A luxury spa retreat encircled by a safe, shallow lagoon
Angsana is beautiful. The beaches are pristine, the food is delicious and the lifestyle is laid back to the point of horizontal. They also focus on marine conservation at Angsana which is a big plus for visitors like us.
This is a great maldive location for watching hawksbill turtles which have been seen in abundance on the reefs around Angsana. We saw five and Jay says she saw a loggerhead, but they are very rare so she could be mistaken. There again, the underwater visibility is amazing, so if she said she saw one, who am I to argue.
On land, the gekkos are beautiful and you an get really close with a camera and they wont move a muscle as you set up your shot... right until the moment when you more your finger just a fraction of an inch to press the shutter, at which point the dissapear faster than a speeding bullet.

The Angsana Ihuru has been spruced up to world class standard. The accomodation has a distinct boutique hotel feel. Excellent beaches and world class service make this Maldive island worthy of five stars..

What are you talking about - three stars? Angsana is wicked. You have got to give them more than three.
Sandbags
I forgot to say that there are sandbags all over the place as the whole island is suffering from erosion. I know this is a negative but we still had a brilliant time and you cannot blame the resort if mother nature wants her sand back can you?
Castaway Island
Wow! We lived out our Robinson Crusoe fantasies on Angsana Ihuru. It really is fantastic. I love the Maldives.
Diving team seem very eco aware
Hi, I haven't got any first hand evidence, but the island website had a link to http://www.banyantree.com which talked a lot about the marine conservation on the island so they should be quite switched on.
Dive School
Anyone got any thoughts about the quality of the dive school on Angsana please?
