Embudu Village Maldive Island
The Maldives Review Rating:
(4 Stars)
Great value resort that is neither too downmarket nor hyper-luxury. People come back time after time to Embudhu.
Embudu Village holidays are promoted by Thomson to the UK market. The food has received rave reviews recently and as everywhere in the Maldives, the beaches are incredible. It is a small island and you can walk around the circumfrence in about ten minutes. A couple of negatives are that you don't get beach towels supplied and that there is no laundry service.
Number of Rooms: 118

Reviews of Embudu Village
We stayed in a Superior room on Embudu for 2 weeks in March 2007. Although the accommodation could do with a little TLC, the room was kept spotlessly clean by our lovely room boy Mohammed. We just had to mention we'd like extra pillows or towels and they arrived! The air con worked really well - and was very quiet. (Take a travel kettle if you like tea or coffee in your room as they are not provided.) Overall we thought food in the restaurant was good and occasionally outstanding. The bar and the nearby deck are both extremely pleasant places to relax - and the staff everywhere are SO friendly.
And of course the snorkelling and diving are AMAZING! The are no motorised watersports and the house reef is very close to shore so it is really easy to see wonderful and varied fish.
Guests come from a wide range of countries (mostly Europe) and the whole place is extremely frendly. Overall - we thought Embudu was excellent value for money. We think it's worth paying for a Superior room. And would we go back - well, we've booked for March 2008!
Hi
Hi back at ya!. It was a fantastic holiday.
Lovely people
Just wanted to say Hi to all the guys and girls we met on Embudu in December. What a lovely Holiday.

No Shoes Required
We left our shoes in the room for a week and were able to safely walk everywhere barefoot.
The water temperature was a constant 28 degrees centigrade which made swimming a joy.
The Standard rooms are kept clean, but they are basic, so if I go again I will opt for a Superior Room. The all inclusive option works out as much better value than the pay as you go option.
