Fihalhohi Maldive Island

The food was great. The weather was wonderful. The stingrays were a little scary at first.
Steve Irwin recently died from a stingray attack and so when we discovered that there were stingrays in the sand we were a bit nervous about letting the kids in the water.
The dive guides took our family in hand and showed us how to safely enjoy the undersea life.
Fihalhohi is a lovely resort. They class it as 'budget' but i really was impressed by the very high standards. The Palm Groove restaurant served excellent food, and the Fisherman’s bar was a great party hang out.
We were worried that the kids would get bored, but they spent every moment running around the beach. of course they couldn't get lost or go anywhere they shouldn't and with plenty of staff around we were happy to let them off the leash for a week.
We all agree it was the best holiday ever.

Fisherman’s Friends
My husband proposed in the Fisherman's Bar and I said yes. Sometimes I wonder whether this was a good move? I think I was caught up in the whole Maldives fantasy thing.
Anyway, the point is to make friends in the Fishermans which is a great hang out. The fact that it is the ONLY hang out on Fihalhohi is neither here nor there.
Sick beneath the trees
Fihalhohi might mean "Eat beneath the trees" but after six of their coconut cocktails I was sick as a parrot. My advice is stick to beer.
Cool as you like
No mosquitos is a brucie bonus. The Maldives are brilliant.
