Sun Island is a very popular Maldives resort for all the right reasons.
They have managed to do the seemingly impossible on Sun Island. It really was the paradise we always imagined the maldives would be.
The brochure always lies. Everyone knows that. They tell lies to get us to spend our money. As soon as we have arrived it is too late for us to change our minds.
Except this time the truth was as good as the promises made in the brochure. Sun Island really is a perfect Maldive slice of heaven.
It takes about half an hour by Maldives Air Taxi to fly the 62 miles from male’ airport to South Ari Atoll. As you come in to land Sun Island looks absolutely breathtaking.
Sun Island is actually called Nalaguraidhoo, and is overflowing with exotic tropical flowers and coconut palms that fringe the islands perfectly white sandy beach.
All the rooms on Sun Island are of an excellent standard. All have ocean views but the overwater bungalows are a particular delight and are highly reccomended. Sun Island Resort and Spa holidays are really rather good.
Food on Sun Island
A good range of local and international cuisine is available to visitors. Being a small island, the seafood is a particular delight here, so do try the more adventurous dishes. Curiously there is an excellent Italian restaurant on the island.Sun Island activities
Scuba diving is a wonderful experience and the PADI dive centre is well equiped and professionally run. Some people are content with snorkelling over the rainbows of colour on the tropical house reef. Other than that, a gym, windsurf school and football pitch provide active entertainment, while most people opt for lying on the beach all day enjoying the lapping of the waves upon the shore.Number of Rooms: 8

Reviews of Sun Island
brilliant views gorgeous beaches and warm seas food and staff very good but night life boring and dull, only one bar as such with any life but dead at night. Stingray feeding is unbelievable, hotel charges for tea and coffee making in the room (even travel lodge in uk is free for that) we just got back on the 29th aug 2008. Dont think i would go again even if it was paradise due to everything belonging to the hotel you could not shop around for choice what was there is what they had. The diving and snorkeling was second to none

Me and my girlfriend came back before two days from sun island and i have to say that is one of the best islands ever seen. Thnx to everyone there..
Paradise
STUNNING STUNNING STUNNING STUNNING STUNNING Went in 2005 with my family, B in Law and Son in law so an all-age group. Never bored. never worried, never hungry, never thirsty, never disappointed. NEVER WANTED TO LEAVE Dont bother with the deep sea fishing just do the night time trip and eat what u catch. Going to Meedhupparu this year 2007.
Bike rip off
There is a charge of three dollars per day for bike hire. Since some rooms are 20 minutes walk from the main dining hall, I feel this is not a fair charge.
Its a Brilliant Island
Could not fault the place. I particularly urge you to try the scuba diving. I tried it for the first time at Sun island and was blown away by how amazing the tropical reef is.
