Velavaru Island Resort is wonderous.
Relaxed and unspoilt make it a great honeymoon destination. There are just 79 rooms so the owners have added 33 exclusive water-villas, but with a magical twist. The Water villas are not attached to the island by a footbridge, so the only way across is swimming or by boat. A real treat for those who like their privacy.
Velavaru Island Resort holidays are all about relaxing either on your private deck or on perfect sandy beaches. Bring a good long book and leave your worries behind.
Plenty of good dive sites close by make this a great destination for those who like a bit of adventure too.

The maldives is not the place for public nudity. A man sentenced to six months imprisonment for skinny dipping at 5.30 am on Male, the capital island of the Maldives recently. While the 'tourist' islands are more relaxed, it is still not acceptable to strip off completely starkers.
